getting old

as i sit and write this evening our lela has gone to spend the night at her friend katharine's house. yes, this is the first time ever she has spent the night over at a friend's house. i'm actually a little nervous about it even though she is literally only about a mile down the road. it's funny because honestly in my mind she is still too young to sleep over at friends' houses and go to slumber parties, but then i think i was that age doing those same exact things. it's just funny how everything seems different when its your own kids. talk about getting older...uh, i guess we all are though?
