It's Halloween

and boy has it been a busy day!! This morning we had class parties and trick or treating around the square. I officially had my first party as room mom this morning for Lela's class. I think everything went really well and everyone seemed to have a good time. The big hit was my Pineapple Limeade slushie punch with gummy eyeballs floating in the cups. I wish I had pictures of it, it was too cute. Now I guess I need to start figuring out what we will do for her Christmas party, hum?

After we got home from school, I decided that we should try and at least carve our pumpkins. I had never carved a pumpkin before, so it took a little longer than expected. So, only Lela's got done....oops! Maybe next year Lacey. I'm sorry baby :(

Later Gigi, Jim (Papa), Aunt Laura, Uncle Ben, Sam, Evan, Kristy, Craig and little Brady came over to eat dinner and go trick or treating around the neighborhood. This was Brady's first Halloween and he was dressed as a dragon. Talk about cute!!! He also is starting to walk, which the girls just love. He was the first one back followed by Lacey, Evan and Jim. From what I was told Lela and Samuel were determined to go ever house in the subdivision, from the likes of their bags I'd say they succeed. They, of course, were last.

We decided after trick or treating to head over to this house across town that decorates their house like a pirate house. It was awesome! Everyone had a great time. We walked all through these people's yard looking at graves while ghosts jumped out at us. I think it would be so much fun to able to do something like that, but I also realize the time and effort involved, which is something we don't really have time for. Oh well such is life.....

The Dancing Daniell Sisters

The girls got to wear their Halloween costumes to dance. Lacey was so excited! Lela is an 'ole pro, so she wasn't as excited as Lacey. (But it also could be that she is 5 1/2 going on 15.) Here is some video of their Halloween performances. We also found out what both of the girls will be for their recital in the spring. The recital is entitled Around the World and Back, so each of the girls will be from a different country. Lela's class will be Irish and Lacey's class will be Japanese....I so can't wait!!!!

Field Trip To The Firestation

Lela's class got to go on their field trip to the fire station. We were suppose to go last Friday but the weather didn't cooperate; it was raining. Personally the rain might not have been so bad compared to today's weather. It's is freezing outside! I can't get over how cold it is. All of a sudden winter is upon us. Hey, what happened to fall? I just keep thinking that if it's this cold right now what is December gonna be like.

The kids had a great time. It was fun I thought. They all got to sit in the fire truck and see an actual fireman slide down the pole. (That looked like fun.) Even Lacey got to go, since today she doesn't have school.

Aunt Laura's Halloween Party

was on Friday night. As always she gave Martha Stewart a run for her money. Everything was so festive. The girls wore their costumes for a little bit of the time, but since the rest of the kids didn't have there's on it was hard to convince them to stay in them, oh well. Here are some pictures from the festivities:

The mantle decorated with bats and "Annabelle" the cat.

"Lacey the Littlest Witch" sitting on the stairs with mice silhouettes.

A giant spider climbing up the stairs along with a hiding ghost.

A ghostly trio floating in the corner.

The hall bathroom - You look bootiful!

Lela in her kitty cat costume, minus her gloves and mask.

Check out the front door with all the different pumpkins greeting guests as they arrive.

The backdoor decorated with a friendly ghost and lights.

The table decorated with scary stuff to eat.

Dentist Appointments

The girls had dentist appointments this morning. Talk about nerve racking. I'm always anxious about going because you never know what the outcome will be...cavities or no cavities? We had a good outcome, though....no cavities!!!

In fact it was Lacey's very first time ever going to the dentist. She did so good, like an ole' pro opening her mouth wide when they asked. She just laid in the chair with her sunglasses and headphones on, listening and watching the movie Peter Pan. Every once in a while I would hear tell me "Mom, I Love You." She is so sweet.

At least we're safe for another six months.

More From Sandestin

On Saturday, we took the girls over to the Villages and let them play at the park and then we walked around down to the pier. On our trip down the pier, I got ahead of everyone and walked right up on a crane standing in the middle of the pier. I stopped dead in my tracks and then started following him very slowly for a few minutes. It was really neat. He was probably about 10 feet ahead of me. Lela saw what I was doing and came up to where I was and just watched with me. She thought that was so cool.

We also adopted more animals while at the beach. We are now up to three in the Daniell Household. The girls were dying for souvenirs and ended up with hermit crabs. Go figure. They are so cute with their crabs; holding them in their hands and having crab races. Lela has named hers Pinchers and Lacey named hers Callie?

Sandestin

The girls are having a blast! Today we spent a beautiful day at the beach while Daddy played golf. The water was a little chilly for me personally but the girls didn't seem to mind it a bit. Something incredible we saw on the beach was a giant jellyfish. It had to have been about the size of a dinner platter. The tentacles on it were incredibly long like giant strings of sphagetti. I'm still blown away just thinking about it.

The other big treat for the girls has been BUNKBEDS. Yes, I said bunkbeds. Our room has bunkbeds that the girls have fallen in love with. Lela has claimed the top and Lacey the bottom. They are so cute climbing up and down the ladder and playing on them. It just amazes me how some of the simplest things can make my kids happy.
