asked one of lacey's friends this morning after church.
yes, we finally did it! we had lacey meredith daniell baptized this morning surrounded by the love of god and others, what a wonderful experience it was. we couldn't have asked for a better service. lacey along with baby, kevin, lela and myself stood at the altar as med and joan placed their hands on lacey's head baptizing her in the name of the father, son and holy ghost. it brought tears to my eyes and an unexplainable joy to my heart.
in the methodist church, it is very commonplace to have infant baptism. it is seen as a sacrament. in infant baptism, god claims the child with divine grace. i guess you could say it is a
a celebration of god's prevenient grace.
when lela was born she was baptized at six months old. after lacey arrived, we were inbetween churches, had been in newnan not quite a year and quite honestly it just didn't feel right. well, now we have found a fantastic church home, our faith has never been stronger and everything felt just right! congratulations, baby girl! we love you!
